How do I install a wall mural? - Self-adhesive wall murals

Installation guidelines for applying self-adhesive wall murals

Preparation of wall:
Before installing your wall mural, make sure the walls are clean and dry. All bumps and holes must be filled and smoothed. In addition, all skirting boards, nails and any switches and sockets must be removed.

Tools required:
- blade
- felt squeegee
- sprayer with water (needed only in wet installation)
- petroleum
It is recommended that 2 people install the wall mural.

Mounting
Unroll the wall mural and place it on a clean and dry surface with the printed side facing up.

If the wall mural consists of more than one panel, then unroll all the panels and check that the print has no manufacturing errors such as discolouration, deformation, difference in the size or thickness of the individual elements, or inconsistencies in the alignment of the image.

Dry installation (for materials such as plasterboard, plaster, concrete, etc.)

Please note! Every panel has 8 mm of overlap. Match the panels to each other on the wall where they overlap. To create a neat seam, a double seam is first necessary.

1. Dry installation is possible only on surfaces such as plasterboard, plaster, concrete, walls and anywhere where water may not be used.

2. Always start installation of a wall mural at a window or from the left, taking into account the order of the individual elements of the wall mural. If the wall mural is applied to a vertical surface, it is recommended that you start at the top. If the wall mural is applied to a flat, horizontal surface, it makes no difference which panels are applied first.

3. Once the surface is prepared, carefully draw vertical guidelines with a pencil to mark the position of the edge of the wall mural. Use a plumb line or spirit level.

4. Peel off 20 - 50 cm of the backing paper from the wall mural panel, rolling it up below. PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT MOISTEN THE WALL SURFACE

5. Apply the film to the surface; one person smoothes the surface which has been stuck with the felt squeegee by pushing any air bubbles under the film towards the edges, while the other person pulls the panel so that it is taut, and gradually rolls up the backing paper underneath.

6. If the wall mural consists of more than one panel, apply subsequent panels in the same way, making sure the panels are glued properly so that the pattern is in line.

PLEASE NOTE: Depending on the nature of the print, apply the next panel with overlap. All edges are professionally cut and should overlap by 8 mm. This means that each panel of the mural is applied 8 mm on top of the previously applied panel. Please note: if the panels are placed exactly next to each other, the pattern will not line up.

Wet installation (for materials such as glass, wood, metal, etc.)

Please note! Every panel has 8 mm of overlap. Match the panels to each other on the wall where they overlap. To create a neat seam, a double seam is first necessary.

1. Wet installation is possible only on surfaces such as glass, metal, wood; in other words, furniture, windows, refrigerators, plastic finishes, etc.

Spray water on the film on the adhesive side and on the initial part of the surface where the wall mural will be applied.

5. Apply the film to the surface; one person smoothes the surface stuck to the wall with the felt squeegee by pushing any water bubbles under the film towards the edges, while the other person pulls the panel so that it is taut, and gradually rolls up the backing paper underneath. Every time part of the backing paper is peeled off, the exposed part of the wall mural and the corresponding surface must be sprayed with water.

6. If the wall mural consists of more than one panel, apply subsequent panels in the same way, making sure the panels are well glued so that the pattern is in line.

Following the above instructions reduces the risk of air bubbles being trapped under the wall mural. Any bubbles remaining nonetheless can be removed by puncturing the bubble with a thin needle, and then flattening the area with a felt squeegee.

Super blij met mijn foto op plexiglas! dankjulliewel

Mooie scherpe print op aluminium. Prima service.
Het ophangen ging wat lastig omdat de voorgeboorde gaten net iets te klein waren voor de geleverde bouten.
